Heaven by Kaila C. Niles

All Images - Mother's Daughter

'HEAVEN encompasses the dye creations of Kaila C. Niles, an Oakland artist specializing in textile dyeing and design. All pieces are re-purposed vintage pieces of only natural fabrics and exceptional cuts, dyed with care. New Things

1. I don't usually go crazy for designer/celebrity high street collaborations but I really liked the J.W. Anderson x Topshop collection and picked up the cats eye jumper. The fact that Jonathan stayed true to his own ethos and had the entire collection manufactured in the U.K is really exciting. 2. A new issue of The Gentlewoman is always exciting. 3. The pound shop on Chapel Market always has the best stuff, like these Burberry flasks. I want to get one for winter to save money on workday coffee runs.

Three Summer Tops

Now that the weather has picked up a bit I've been wearing these three summer tops from One Off, whom I really recommend if you are looking for a fresh and affordable approach to secondhand clothing. Owner Josie also has a great blog where she chronicles her daily inspirations, gallery visits and amazing finds from Shepherd's Bush Market, here at What's She Like?

Lindsay Wixson by Terry Richardson, UK Vogue August 2012

When I was twelve I begged my Mum to let me have my ears pierced like all my friends did. I don't think I've worn earrings since, yet I felt really drawn to Terry Richardson's photographs of Lindsay Wixson in the August issue of UK Vogue. I've had a subscription to the magazine for three years now and keep forgetting to cancel it, but sometimes they'll do something that catches my attention, like this or their wonderful interview with Jane Birkin last October, where she talked about her collection of holey cashmere socks and the time Jacques Doillon ran over her infamous wicker basket in his car. Nevertheless, the clean, simple silver hoops (and, also, this) have made me seriously rethink my previous aversions to piercings. So much so that I'm thinking of paying a visit to Love, Adorned and picking up a set for myself when I'm in NYC in a few weeks time.

Maja Casablancas, D2 Magazine

Just when I thought she couldn't be any more of a goddess. This article that did the rounds a few months ago now also made for interesting reading.

Theorem Hair Art, Islington

This shop on the corner of Cross Street and Essex Road is one of my favourites. It's never open and only sells coloured weaves and seahorses.
